Press Release
ByLouMoffat is for the print obsessed looking for sustainable accessories and inclusive slow fashion. The brand was set up in 2020 after Lou graduated from a Fashion Design degree at Falmouth Uni. Her sustainable fashion and textile business focuses on Lou’s hand-drawn prints, which take inspiration from the psychedelic eras of the 60s and 70s, combining vintage motifs with contemporary colourways. Once she has digitally created her intricate designs, she gets them printed sustainably onto a range of fabrics by a London based company who use eco-friendly dyes and water-free manufacturing. The fabric is then sent back to Lou where she sews it up into range of products in her home studio. Her current products range from clothing such as turtlenecks and dresses to homewear and accessories including headbands and wash bags. Lou’s business is set up to be as sustainable as possible so every component of her products from zips to packaging is all sourced within the UK to lower her business's carbon footprint. The brand also has a zero-waste policy with each product being made to order, including getting the fabric printed, so there is very little waste involved in the manufacturing process. Any scrap fabric is used to make other products, such as scrunchies, patchwork clothing and patchwork wash bags. Rather than focusing on trends, Lou hopes to bring a splash of colour into people’s lives by providing premium quality products that will last a lifetime.
